1. AVAILING OF IMMUNIZATION SERVICES

The purpose of this sevice is to immunize children ages 0-11 months old from seven immunizable diseases ( BCG, DPT, measles, Hepatites B, Anti Polio, Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus DPT)

ALSO, immunizes pregnant mothers to prevent the occurrence of Tetanus and to the Neonatorum  in infants.

2. AVAILING OF  MATERNAL CARE SERVICES

The Rural Health Units provides a comprehensive maternal care program for   pregnant and lactating mothers.

Normal Spontaneous vaginal deliveries (NSVD) – P 1,500 with OB pack

  1. Pre-Natal Examination Health Education

Midwife on Duty:

  1. Checks client's abdominal palpitation and informs the mother of her findings
  2. Gives mother health instructions on proper nutrition and maternity care
  3. Emphasizes the importance of reporting to the MHO once she feels the occurrence of pregnancy danger signs
  4. Gives mother maternity care services

3. AVAILING OF  FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES

The RHU unit manages a family planning program on all women of reproductive age.

 

PROGRAM COVERAGE

1. The program covers the following services:
2. Basic Family Planning Education
3. Provision of Family Planning Commodities
4. Information on Family Planning Methods
5. Health Education (especially regarding examinations/tests needed by clients relative to the family planning method chosen; and medical management of problems resulting from the method used)

 

4. AVAILING OF ANTI-TB DRUGS

THE  MUNICIPAL HEALTH UNIT (MHU) manages an anti-tuberculosis program.  The purpose is to identify and treat patients with tuberculosis (TB).  Drugs and medicine are provided free-of-charge.

The MedTech  assigned from Provincial Health Office will have it duty every Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

WHO MAY AVAIL

Any person, 10 years old and above, who displays the following symptoms may have tuberculosis:
•    persistent coughing for 2 weeks or more
•    fever
•    progressive weight loss
•    chest or back pains
•    hemoptysis or recurrent blood streak sputum
•    loss of appetite
•    tiredness/night sweating

The client/patient comes with referral slip from the BHS complete with vital signs taken

  1. Collection and submission of specimen

Client collect sputum specimen as advised by the PHM on proper collection of the sputum and submits to the on duty  MedTech who comes every Tuesdays and Thursday

Client is then told that her/his PHM will inform him/her of the result

  1. Enrollment of Patient

Once diagnosed as positive for sputum, client is then enrolled by the PHN and issues NTP identification card.

Gives info education about TB disease and control and the importance of the directly observed treatment for short course (DOTS) chemotherapy with his/her treatment partner.

For clients with negative sputum examination but with positive TB on chest x-ray, these are referred to the Diagnostic Committee Team who meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

 

 

 

5. SECURING A HEALTH /MEDICAL CERTIFICATE/MEDICO LEGAL

Medical Health Certificates are issued by Rural Health Units.

Firms and government agencies may require Health Certificate for employment, for school enrollment, for absences, for sickness

6. SECURING A SANITARY PERMIT AND HEALTH CARD

The Rural Health Unit issues a Sanitary Permit to operate in all business establishments after the actual inspection .

Yearly issuance of Health Cards are being used to operators/food handlers and employees for business purposes.

7. AVAILING OF GENERAL CONSULTATION AND TREATMENT OF MINOR MEDICAL CASES

The RHU of Dauis is a primary health care unit which caters to Dauisanons who needs for general consultation, treatment of minor medical cases and emergency cases which are referred for further management.

Major surgical and medical cases are referred to Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital – a tertiary government operated (DOH) hospital and other private hospitals .

Consultation, treatment and starter dose medicines are given free of charge. Other medicines not available are prescribed to the patient/client.
